Maybe it is all the talk of the trip to København this weekend that has led me to a new obsession with BIG, but here is another simple project by the Bjarke Ingels Group. This photo series is from a project in København situated on Nordatlantens Brygge. This project is sited on a water front property, engaging both the inherent publicness of the water front and the city fabric that sits behind it.
This project creates two 'lifted' public zones, a grand exhibition space and a fully accessible public plaza, and two levels of primary circulation, one that goes through the public program and one that goes over the whole building and flows out into an artificially lifted ground.
This project is simple, its concept is simple, and it fits.
